2002 Journal
I will
be 9 months old. So, that means pictures and a doctor's
visit. I have, like Mommy & Daddy guessed, started
crawling and am getting into EVERYTHING. This month, I'm
sure will be full of new achievements and funny stories of my
developments. Stay tuned.

Grammy
and Pap-pap Visit

My Grammy
and Pap are visiting for the week. They haven't seen me
since Christmas and boy, have I changed a lot since then.
I am so busy showing them all my tricks. How I crawl
around, pull my self up, cruise along the furniture, make
smacking sounds, say "Mama" and "Dada" and
feed myself crackers. Grammy, Mommy and me have done some
major clothes shopping this week too! I can't wait to wear
some of the new things. I also got swimming trunks for
when we go to the beach.
Grammy and Pap are going to watch me on Saturday because Mommy
and Daddy have a wedding to go to. It should be
interesting and fun....since it's been YEARS since they have had
to take care of a baby! I wonder what tricks I will have
in store for them?

I'm
Nine Months Old Today!

Grrrrr!

I
bet you can't believe that it has been 9 whole months since I first
entered the world! Boy, have a been busy! Hmmm, let's
see....I am crawling now and moving all over the place. I like
to pull myself up on the furniture, especially the end table and
swipe everything off of it! I have also recently discovered
the TV (it's got some cool buttons) and the front door. I like
to sit and watch the cars drive by and the flags blowing in the
wind. I have also realized that the floor in the kitchen is a
lot different than the floor in the living room, so when I go in
there I like to crawl with my knees up off of the floor.
Grammy and Pap-pap really thought that was funny.

I guess I
should tell you that my sleeping pattern is a little screwed up
right now. I used to go to bed at 8 o'clock and get up around
7:30. Now, I pretty much do whatever. Mommy thinks that
I get excited about my new adventures and can't sleep! She may
be right.
I went for my pictures at Sears yesterday so you all should be
getting those by the end of the month. I must say that I look
pretty handsome...for a nine month old, that is.
Also, I am going to the doctors tomorrow for my check up. I
will be sure to let you all know how I am growing. Daddy
thinks that I weigh around 20 pounds and approximately
29inches. I am still wearing size 3 diapers and have moved on
to 12 month size clothes. They are a little big, but Mommy
said that way I can wear them for a longer time.
Still no teeth yet and Mommy and Daddy said that I have to start
using my "sippy" cup more. I can get some drinks out
of it but I really do like my bottle more, this is going to be tough
thing to learn.
Well, I guess that is about it for now. We should have lots of
updates this month. I know we are going to see Auntie Atina
and Uncle Will for their baby shower and Aunt Jen (Baker) is coming
for a visit!

Cole's
9 Month Check-up

My nine
month check up was today. Dr. Sue isn't working at the
office anymore, she joined the Air Force. I sure do miss
her, since she knew me already. Anyway, I got to meet Dr.
Webb today. She was nice. She said that I was a very
tall boy! I got weighed and measured and 2
shots....owie! I don't have to go back there again until I
am a year old! She told Mommy and Daddy to wait on giving
me milk to drink, until I am a year old too. But I can try
foods like pudding and cottage cheese. She also said for
me to start drinking from a cup...guess Mommy and Daddy were
right with that one. I'm sure we'll keep you posted on how
all of that goes.

"Crying
it Out"

Well, I
guess I should tell you about the newest thing that my parents
are doing with me. I don't know if you will be able to
stomach this, so you may want to sit down. They are making
me lay in my crib and fall asleep on my own! Oh, the
humanity!! I try to protest, but after 20 minutes I soon
realized that it wasn't going to work on them! Besides, it
was just making me even more sleepy. Mommy says that I am
a growing boy and I need my sleep if I want to have energy to
crawl around and discover new things. That sounds like a
pretty good thing to me, especially since I am loving my new
mobility. I have found a lot of neat stuff! So, I
guess that this falling asleep on my own, isn't such a horrible
thing. I do and probably will for a little bit, anyways,
try and protest it. I only give it about 5 to 10 minutes
of my efforts now and if they don't come in, I say to myself,
"Self, Good Night" and I know that I'll see them
in the morning! ZZZzzzz.

Auntie
Atina & Uncle Will's Baby Shower

We were
supposed to be going to Virginia today for a baby shower, but
Mommy got really sick and we didn't make it. Grandpa and
Grandma Proper visited with us a little on Friday and took everything
down that Mommy had planned. (Mommy feels terrible that
she missed it). Grandma and Grandpa called later and said
that the shower was really nice and they got a lot of cool
things. I'm glad and soo excited to meet my new cousin!

My
Great Uncle Dan Wiles

I have some
sad news. My Great Uncle has passed away. I never
got to meet him but he was my Pap-pap's brother. My Mommy
knew him and has lots of memories of him from when she was a
little girl and used to go to the bowling alley. He will
me missed by everyone. Mommy says that I have one more
angel in Heaven watching over me.

Going
For A Swim

Mommy and
Daddy bought me a swimming pool for the summer. Who would
have thought that it would have been warm enough in April to use
it! Since the temperature has climbed well into the 90's
around here, Mommy & Daddy decided to let me try it out!
I was a little apprehensive at first...the water was kind of
cooler than I'm used to. So, first I just stuck my
tootsies in. That was okay. Daddy added some pots of
hot water and then I was good to go. I really had a good
time once I discovered that I could crawl around in it.
Plus, it has this really neat shade thing to keep the sun off of
me.
I hope you all have some way of keeping cool these hot
days. I'd be happy to share some space in my pool with
you!

Getting A Tooth!

I am having
some kind of a throbbing like feeling in my mouth. I was
fussing so Mommy would pick me up and she got all excited.
I'm not really sure what she was bouncing me up and down for
when I was trying to tell her that something odd was going on
and I WASN'T liking it! Anyway, she proceeded to stick HER
finger in my mouth and rub on my lower gums. Now, that
felt kind of good so I calmed down a bit. She said that I
was getting a tooth! I guess that's a big deal because she
told Daddy, who then stuck HIS finger in my mouth and then we
walked down to Uncle Mark's and he stuck HIS finger in my
mouth! I guess it's a good thing that the Grandparents
aren't here or THEY would be sticking their fingers in my mouth
too! GEEZ!
Anyway, the tooth is barely showing and only hurts me a tiny bit
at times. Daddy bought this stuff to rub on it and it
tastes like berries. It makes me feel much better BUT not
as much as those yummy Popsicles do!

Ain't No Staircase High Enough..."

I am having
a blost climbing the stairs! Mommy and Daddy make sure
that I am safe by standing behind me. They don't have to
help me at all! I can do it all by myself! I don't
remember how I discovered that I could do it. One day, I
just decided to try and up I went! Mommy sure was
surprised when she walked over and saw me on step number
3! We did go shopping today and Daddy put a gate there
now! Bummer! Oh well, it was fun while it
lasted! I'm sure that they will let me climb them again.

Tooth
Number 2 !!

Uncle Mark
came over to see me today to check out my new tooth
that I was getting. He looked in my mouth and saw the
other bottom tooth coming in! No wonder I've been leaving
a pile of drool everywhere I go! I sure hope that they
come up soon and that way everyone can see them. It's
getting kind of old having Mommy pull my lip down and try and
get my tongue out of the way in order to show everyone!

"Aunt
Jenny" and "Grammy Boltz" Come to Visit!!

Aunt Jenny
and Grammy Boltz came to visit me this weekend! I think
they came to see Mommy and Daddy too. It was a nice time
since I haven't seen them since Christmas and we all know that I
have gotten much bigger since then! They got here late on
Friday so I didn't get to see them until I woke them up for
breakfast on Saturday. Silly them thinking that they could
sleep in until noon....not in "my" house. There
will be none of that! I showed them all the neat stuff I
can do and get into. Aunt Jenny even watched me for a bit
while Mommy and Daddy ran some errands. Later on Saturday,
Melonie & Ryan and Jen & Darrin came over to play games
and eat pizza! It was fun seeing everyone. I had to
go to bed but the grown ups stayed up really late.
Sunday morning came all to soon for them! We just hung out
and visited some more before they had to head back to
Kittanning. I hope they come see me again soon! Or
me them!
