Visiting
with Aunt Susan & Uncle Allen
August 2, 2003 |
We went to visit
my Aunt and Uncle today!! What a nice time we had. We
arrived just in time for lunch. Uncle Allen was grilling up
some grub while Aunt Susan was making my favorite...CORN ON THE
COB!! I had one whole ear and half of Uncle Allen's!!
Yummy! Aunt Susan is pretty cool because she let me have my
very own apple juice boxes!!! PLUS...Incredible Hulk
pudding!!! I brought my lawn mower because I figured Uncle
Allen could use some help with that HUGE yard of his!! I sure
did have fun exploring it! We walked down to the playground
after all the grown-ups ate. I had fun running around there a
bit but it was pretty hot out. We decided to go to a petting
zoo that Aunt Susan said was pretty cool! Boy, she was
right!!! I had fun petting baby cows, sheep, goats, pigs, tortoises
and llamas!! I really wanted to pet the chickens but they
wouldn't let me. I tried catching them but they are too
quick!! The grown-ups got a kick out of watching me run all
over the place. One of the baby cows "kissed" me
right on the face!! I was just trying to say
"hello"!! After our day there....we took a ride on
the Historic
White's Ferry. Now, that was pretty cool too! We drove the
Pathfinder right onto the boat!!! Then the boat took us across
the river!! Weeee!!
We had a really nice time and I hope that we can get together again
soon!!

Camp
Cody
August
9-13, 2003 |
Mommy, Daddy and
me all went up to Camp Cody in Benezett, Elk County. This is
my second time there. We went up with Aunt Jenny's
family. Let me see if I can remember who all was there.
Us, Aunt Jenny, Todd, and Jessica Baker, Brian, Sheri, Maria, and
Jonathan Boltz, Grammy Boltz, Grandma and Pap Snyder. For
little temporary visits was Bud and Maurveen Bowser ( Mommy said
that she was her 5th grade teacher!) and Todd's Mom and StepDad.
Plus, the dogs...Muffin, Sam, and Abby. We had a good time
hanging out and I got to run around outside a lot!! We did
some crafts during the day, ate really great meals for dinner and
went Elk spotting at night. Boy, did we see some big
bucks!!! Mommy didn't have the camera with her when we saw the
best ones...figures!! We didn't get to do much swimming in the
creek. Since it had rained so much the water was really high
and swift. However, Mommy took me in on Wednesday. She
put my life jacket on and held on to me good and tight.
BOY...was the water cold...freezing. But I had a fun time
anyways!! I actually surprised Mommy. We didn't stay in
the water for very long. It seems like our time there went
really quickly. I was having a great time but I will have to
admit, I was glad to get home and sleep in my own bed. Mommy
is a bed hog!!

Fun
Care Picnic
August
16, 2003 |
Mommy, Daddy,
Amanda and Me went to the Fun Care picnic today. It was at
Colonel Denning State Park in Newville, PA. It took us an hour
to get there...so, I took a nap!! It was a good thing that we
went because it was storming like crazy here and we were hesitate to
go. Well, it was a very nice day there and not a rain drop in
site!! All of the teachers that I really like were there and
some of my friends from my class too! We ate some really good
food. Daddy made "Dirt" for our covered dish.
(Mommy thanks him big for that...she wasn't feeling really
good.) Anyway, my favorite things were the fruit kabobs!
I had 2 of them!! Daddy and me went for a nice nature walk and
saw some spiders and caterpillars. Then, Mommy, Daddy and me
went to the lake for swimming. This place actually had a sandy
beach for me to play on. I really like sand and wet sand is
even more fun!! I did get in the water...happily. The
water was pretty cold though. Not as cold as the creek at
camp. Daddy wasn't having much fun but he grinned and bared it
for me. Now, Mommy on the other hand, didn't mind it at
all. She is hoping, and Daddy is too, that I will get some of
her love of the water. I'm getting better. I had my life
jacket on and allowed Daddy to let go of me and I
"paddled" and reached for Mommy. It may have only
been an inch but that is HUGE for me!! After about an
hour at the lake we went back to the pavilion to see if Amanda was
still alive...heehee. She was busy visiting with
everyone. After some more running around the park and playing
with my friends, we came home. Amanda stayed and visited with
us for awhile and we got pizza! Yummy!

Finding
Nemo - My First Movie
August
17, 2003 |
Today was kind
of a lazy day for us. We were going to go to Pinchot again for
swimming but figured the water would be cold and we had already gone
swimming yesterday. So, Daddy and Mommy took me to see Finding
Nemo. We went to the cheap theater at the Colonial Park
Mall...just incase we would have to leave. But we didn't....I
LOVED IT!! I sat in my own seat, or with Mommy or Daddy.
I had some Reese Pieces, a lollipop and a drink to get me through
it. I laughed and cheered - all at the right parts!! I
can't wait to see another one!!

McDonald's
Cheeseburger
August
21, 2003 |
So, Daddy wanted
to go to the new Super Wal-Mart and get the Chicago DVD. We
decided to eat at the Mc Donald's there beforehand. I
got a Happy Meal because they were giving away Matchbox cars in
them. Daddy thought he would get me a cheeseburger meal this
time since I don't eat anything but the fries. Well, Mommy
unfolded that thing and it looked GREAT! I was like, "oooh"
and "ahhhh". I asked, "dat?". Mommy
said it was a yummy "cheese" sandwich. (Interesting
trick Mommy, you know I LOVE toasted cheese sandwiches!) I
picked it up and took a bite....just a little one, got mostly bun
and cheese...."Mmmm". I tried another big bite this
time...."Mmmmm". Daddy thought I was pretty funny,
considering that I did that with every bite I took! I ate over
half of it and most of my fries and all of my milk. What a
good supper!

Uncle
JG Visits
August
22-24th, 2003 |
Uncle JG came to
visit me this weekend since he missed my birthday party when his car
broke down. We had a really nice visit. First, I got to
open all my gifts. I got a cool water squirter. (I'm
still a bit too small to make it work. But watch out next
year!!) He also got me a Bob the Builder "doll" that
has a jackhammer and a big "Scoop" to push around.
"Scoop" talks...Daddy wishes he had an "off"
button!!
Saturday, after Gymboree, we went to Pinchot Park for a
picnic. We had yummy chicken and other stuff. We rented
a row boat and took that out on the lake for about an hour.
(We didn't take the camera incase it would get wet...so we don't
have any pics of that.) It was fun and I liked helping to row
the boat. Uncle JG and Daddy said they were really tired after
that. Next time, we are getting one with a motor!! Mommy
and me didn't mind it at all. We did a little swimming
too. The water was really warm. It was cool when the
wind blew but other than that it was great! I wore my floatie
in the water so Mommy and Daddy could let go of me. I did much
better this time. I just need to keep my mouth shut.
Drinking too much lake water can't be good! Mommy even dunked
my WHOLE head under the water a few times. That wasn't so bad,
I mean I didn't cry but I wouldn't say it was the most fun I've ever
had. We are hoping to go swimming again before Fall sets
in. I was pretty tired and slept the whole way home.
Sunday morning we got up and ran over to Hershey. Uncle JG
hasn't been there since he was little. We just went to
Chocolate World and then had lunch there. Daddy, Uncle JG and
Bernie went golfing all afternoon, while I was napping. Daddy
did pretty good. He shot an 89, which is his best
yet.

Chilifest
2003
August
29, 2003 |
We all went to
Chilifest today. Daddy was very excited since he hasn't
been able to go all the years he lived here. It only costs a
quarter for a sample of chili! Daddy said it was the best deal
in town. Daddy tasted a few, and then decided to brave the
"Belly Burner" which, as in the Simpsons, was a bowl
of chili made from the merciliess peppers of Quetzlcatenago, grown
deep in the jungle primeval by members of a Guatemalan insane
asylum. Daddy said it wasn't as hot as he was led to believe
(since last year Mommy and Uncle Mark were going on an on about it)
but it was still pretty hot. We also got to try Cajun Chili,
made with gators and crawfish. Some of the booths were funny,
with names like "Horror Chili," "2 Flush Chili"
and "Swamp Rat Chili."
After Chilifest, we took a nice train ride around City Island...I
love trains. Then we went down to a Native American festival
and watched a couple dances. I really liked the beating on the
drums and singing. But sadly, it started to rain really
hard. We all got soaked, but that's ok, cause Dad and I got to
splash in puddles. That was fun.
