March 2004 Journal

Well, we are already getting a taste of Spring.  We
even had a day in the 70's!  No complaints here...just wondering how long it will last?!

I've been pretty good at journaling everything so you will want to check back often and see what we are
up to around here!

St. Patrick's Day is this month...be sure to wear green!

Swimming Lesson #8
March 2, 2004
Well, today was my last swimming lesson from this session.  I decided to be a real show off this time.  I totally cooperated for everything!  I even dove under the water, with Mommy of course, to pick up the "fishy's".  I still won't go under on my own, but that is okay.  Plus, I really jumped from the side of the pool.  Mommy was shocked, she had been trying to get me to this the entire time...well, today I did it lots.  "1..2..3...jump"...I was so excited at some times that Mommy had to stop me.  I can't jump in until Mommy says it's okay.
I will be taking this class again.  The next one that advances is for four year olds and they go ALONE!!!  Mr. C and Ms. Joanne gave me a really cool certificate.  It has a crab on it and Mommy hung it on the fridge.

More Geocaching!
March 7, 2004
When we get a nice day around here...we go out caching.  I really am enjoying it and so are Mommy and Daddy.  We searched for 4 today but only found 3 of them.  We found 2 virtual caches that were along River Front Park and 1 that was in the city.  We tried to find a "Traditional" one but we think it may have been under water...we aren't sure.  We will go back and look for it again at a later date.  Check out the pictures.
I had fun playing on the obstacle course in the park and on the steps.  I was running a singing my favorite songs.  We also went to The Spot...again.  I sure do like their French fries!  Plus, there is this really huge crane outside that I like looking at!

Sitting On The Potty!
March 7, 2004
I finally did it!  Sat on the potty...that was it, but that is pretty huge for me!  Before, there was no way I was going to sit my bottom on that thing!  I surprised Daddy upstairs when we were getting ready for bed.  I just told him I wanted to sit on the potty.  I think he did a double take before saying..."okay".  I sat on the big seat first, but then Daddy remembered that Santa had brought me my own little seat.  Daddy called for Mommy and we all sat in the bathroom.  I was very excited and sang a few songs.  I didn't pee but wiped myself anyway and flushed the potty!  I like doing that!  Not sure what all of this means...but I am sure it's the beginning of something!

**Of course, Mommy captured this moment on film...did you really think she wouldn't?**

Fun With Scissors
March 10, 2004
I stayed home sick today.  I have a runny, stuffy nose and a pretty good cough.  Mommy and I did all kinds of fun stuff.  We painted, colored and used glue.  Anyway, Mommy was using scissors...so, I wanted to use scissors.  We dug out my own pair that Grammy had gotten me a long time ago.  Mommy showed me how to hold them and how to hold the paper.  Open...close....open...close.  Now, I am the master!  I must have spent the better part of the day cutting up paper.  I made quite the mess but helped Mommy sweep it up (I think most of what I did went under the refrigerator...heehee!).  Mommy kept telling me over and over that scissors are ONLY for paper!  Well...duh?  What else could you possibly cut with scissors.....?????

Pooped In The Potty!
March 13, 2004
I surprised everyone, even myself tonight!  Daddy caught me making a certain face and hiding in a special spot, so he asked me if I wanted to go sit on the potty.  I, to much surprise, said..."yes".  Daddy took me upstairs and I sat on the potty...made a funny sound, that made me laugh...*plop*.    "YAY!", said Daddy.  "YAY!", said me!  "YAY!", said Mommy!  We were all excited.  Mommy and me did cheers for everyone who poops in the potty!  We cheered for Grandma, Pa-Pa, Grammy, Pap-Pap, Uncle JG, Uncle Mark and Amanda!
I'm not completely ready for this whole potty training thing.  I am usually just too busy to bother with it.  Mommy said that we will go shopping some day so I can pick out my own little potty to use.

Mommy said she isn't ready to push me into it yet...too much stuff going on around home...

Our House Is For Sale!
March 14, 2004
Well, today we put a For Sale sign in our front yard.  Well, Bonnie our realtor did.  She is really nice.  I drew a picture for her.  Anyway, Daddy and Mommy said that we are going to buy a new house with a back yard for me to run and play in.  I will even be able to get a swing set or some kind of playground thing!  It will be exciting.  But right now, it's kind of nerve racking for the parents.  They have to keep the house cleaned up and reduce clutter!  That has been the tricky one and most difficult for me, because it means a lot of my toys have to be put away or put in the garage.  We will be sure to keep you all posted on how the house hunting is going.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
March 17, 2004
Happy St. Patrick's Day everybody!  I had a fun day with Mommy.  We made green cupcakes and painted some shamrocks.  I was the only friend at school, in my class, that had all green on too!  Daddy met Mommy & me at FunCare and we went for dinner at McDonald's!  We had yummy "shamrock shakes"!  When we got home...our living room was a mess!  LEPRECHAUNS!!!  I ran around to see if I could catch one, but they must have already left.  I helped to clean up there mess and found some yummy lollipops and M&M's they had left for me!  Maybe I will catch them next year!

Geocaching Fun...and More!
March 20, 2004
Today is the First Day of Spring!  Yea!  The weather was pretty good too, considering all the snow we got this week!  Weird!  We had a bunch of people coming to see our house today, so we needed to be gone.  First, we went for breakfast at Old Country Buffet.  Mmmm...yummy French toast for me and, of course, chocolate milk!  Then I had my Gymboree class.  We got $50 in "gymbucks" to use toward my next session!  I have been going there for six straight sessions...wow!  I really like running around and jumping all over the equipment!  Next, we did some Geocaching.  We found a total of 3 "treasures" today.  One called "Bull's-eye" (guess what major department store it was hidden near...heehee).  That was a tricky one to find, Daddy and me had to get real low and crawl around under the steps!  Next one was called, "Fuzzy Few" and it was in a really cool park/playground in Hummelstown.  The last and most challenging one of the day was in a park in Union Deposit.  It was a very remote park that we didn't even know existed.  Daddy and Mommy were quite impressed with the "porta-potty"...said, it was the cleanest one they have ever seen!  Anyway, we all put on our "hiking" shoes before we set out since this one was actually in the "woods".  Good thing we did that...it was a swampy, muddy but fun mess!  It was hard for me to walk and I kept falling down in the mud.  I got upset the first couple of times and then it just was fun!  We really looked a long time for this one...and finally Mommy found it!  It was in a "holey" tree.  I picked out a cool alien eraser and we left some silly putty.  Mommy comes prepared for our geocaching adventures and I was able to completely have my clothes changed before we jumped back in the car!  This one was a traditional cache, while the first two we did are called "micro-caches", which means they are only big enough for a log sheet for you to sign...usually tucked away and hidden in magnetic find-a-key holders.   I took a nice little nap in the car while Mommy & Daddy went to Rita's Italian Ice Shop and got free icees that they always give out on the first day of Spring!  Finally, we were able to go home...only to get ready to go out.  We had a game night party planned at the Hartley's at 6 o'clock!  Amanda, The Fisher's, The Hartley's and Janelle & Brian (they are getting married this summer) were there!  I had a fun time playing with Jen!  She is pretty funny!  I even helped her out and swept her kitchen floor!  It was soon midnight and time to go home!  I was sooo sleepy but had such a fun time!

SOLD!!
March 21, 2004
WOW...five people came to see our house yesterday and we had 2 offers today.  Bonnie, our realtor called last night to set up the meetings.  They came at 11 o'clock (I got to go to Amanda's house and spend the day with Kobe & Hailey, their dogs that I absolutely LOVE!  I love Amanda too...she gives me chocolate, whenever I want!).  Only one of the people making the offer showed up, so we aren't sure what happened to the other...but IT DIDN'T MATTER!!  We got an offer we couldn't refuse....full asking price and no stipulations, plus flexibility on our getting out of the house!  We do have to have a termite inspector come and the house needs to "appraise" at the price we listed...then we will be good to go!  I will be sad to leave here but excited to get a new bedroom and a yard to play in!!  The house is going to a young man, veteran that just got back from Kosovo, and right now is living with his parents.  I hope he loves our house and enjoys my wall mural...heehee!

Our New House
March 28, 2004

Soon to be "Home Sweet Home"

Wow!  Our new house...newly constructed.  Things sure did go fast around here.  It was just 3 weeks ago when Mommy & Daddy said they were going to talk with a realtor too see what we would need to do to sell and buy a new house.  We put our townhouse on the market on the 14th...showed it on the 20th...sold it by the 21st!  Found our new house (after looking at it numerous times)...ran the numbers and signed the contract on the 23rd!

The house is in Palmyra, east of Hershey, PA.  It is about 15 minutes from where we live now.  It's a very nice little rural town.  Our friends, the Ciesielka's just moved to Annville, which is about 5 minutes from our development!  That happened by accident, but will be nice for us to continue our playdates!  It is a 4 bedroom, 2 1/2 bathroom, family room, kitchen with eating area, formal dining and living room and an unfinished basement (that Daddy has already taken all the measurements for to start building his "home theater").  The outside is a pale yellow, with blue shutters and mountain stone.  We will be the official owners on the 30th of April and moving on May 1st.  I love coming to visit this house...I love running in all the empty rooms and closing all the doors.  The walk-in closets are my favorites!

The name of the development is Springbrook Farms.  It is a fairly new development and still has a lot of room for building more houses.  There is a house to the right of ours and room for probably 2 more on the left, there isn't one there as of yet.  In the back, we have a nice size yard, that we are hoping someday to put in a deck and pool.  At the back of yard will be landscaping, a bike path, a road and then a playground.  They are eventually building $200,000 town homes to the back right of our house.  We are hoping that guarantees "decent" neighbors...heehee!  What I think is really cool, is the single engine airplane airfield that we can see from our backyard.  I really enjoyed watching them takeoff and fly around!!  I guess they will have to replace my trains that I could watch everyday from here!

We took some pictures of the "empty" inside of the house...so, be sure to visit the gallery!

Uncle Mark Visits!
March 31, 2004

Uncle Mark has been up in Pennsylvania visiting friends and family for a few days.  He actually came to our place on Friday night (26th) and stayed until Saturday afternoon.  I took him to Gymboree with me, to see our new house and for a little Geocaching on the Greenbelt!  We drove him down to York to visit some friends and to play in a poker tournament, which he came in 2nd place!  I didn't ask him how much he won!  Then he went to Atlantic City with some other friends, then back home to visit his parents for his Mom's birthday...THEN his Daddy brought him back up to our house on Wednesday!  Whew!  He sure is a busy guy.  I sure did miss him and we had fun playing "pile on Mommy, Daddy or whoever!"...and my other favorite game, "run!".  His other friend, Mark, picked him up on Thursday morning and they were going to Myrtle Beach to play some golf!  Boy, I can't wait to be a big boy like him and do all that fun stuff.  He told me that we will be going to see him soon, in a few weeks actually, in Florida!  I am going to get to fly in an airplane!  We are going to go to the beach, the zoo and Sea World!  Just to name a few!  I can't wait!!
