December 2004 Journal

Can you believe it's Christmas season already?!  We haven't even started our wish lists or shopping yet!

I hear we have lots going on this month...so that means lots of pics and entries.  I just hope that I can keep up!

Mommy is also wondering if I will visit with Santa this year, let alone tell him what I want!

Happy Birthday to Mommy!
December 1, 2004
We spent most of Mommy's birthday driving back home from Grandparents Proper.  Daddy and I did give her some nice cards, big wishes and lots of kisses today.    Daddy and me are going to make her a big cake too when we get home...that should be fun!  I told Daddy that it has to be a "black" one!

Happy 34th Birthday, Mommy!  We LOVE you!
Happy Birthday to Daddy!
December 3, 2004
My Mommy and Daddy's birthdays are too close together!  We spent most of Daddy's birthday driving to the Lemmons' house in Virginia tonight.  So, there hasn't been much celebrating.  Plus, it was hard for me to understand that Daddy's birthday was so soon.  I kept telling him it was Mommy's and he just wasn't buying that!  Mommy said we are going to celebrate Daddy's birthday when we get home from our trip and settled in a bit from the long weekend!

Happy 32nd Birthday Daddy....even though I don't believe it!  Mommy & me love you soo much!  xoxoxo
Trip to The Lemmons' Family
December 3-4, 2004
Tonight when Mommy got home we picked up Jen & Darrin and traveled south.  It took us about 3 hours to get there and find there new house.  It looked so pretty all lit up for Christmas.  I thought the trees in the yard looked, "awesome!".  I was so excited when i realized that we were at Sam's house.  We all came down to help celebrate Sarah's birthday the next day.  She is going to be a whole year old already!  Sam and I played hard.  He has all kinds of neat tractor toys.  Sarah's party was on Saturday and the Fisher's arrived just in time for that.  Maysen traveled in the car great for them!  We had a nice time, Sarah was all dressed up for her big day.  We ate pizza, chips, soda (which I like to call beer) and yummy cake and ice cream.  Mommy, Jen L. and Jen H. helped to decorate the cake.  It looked like a butterfly.  We had a nice time and soon it was time to head home.  I didn't want to leave but I heard the grown-ups talking about a Christmas get together...so maybe I will get to see Sam again soon.

A Geocaching Adventure
December 5, 2004
We had to get up real early this morning because we were going Geocaching.  However, this time we were meeting someone to take along.  I guess a freelance reporter, Holly is her name, is doing an article about the "sport" and wanted to profile our family!  Cool!  So, we took her and her husband out for a good hike.  I did really good but did have to have Daddy carry me part of the way, it was just getting too steep and rocky.  Mommy & Daddy talked a lot on the way and answered a lot of questions.  I just pointed out cool trees, rocks and tracks in the mud.  We found them all fascinating!  We finally got to ground zero and Daddy asked me if I saw it anywhere.  I simply replied, "yes I do!".  I don't think Mommy believed me because she said, "where?"  So, I pointed and sure enough....I was right!  I got a cool ball out of it and helped to sign the logbook.
Holly said she would be in touch with us again and that we will have to set up something with the papers photographer.  She was hoping to get the article in before Christmas to give people some shopping ideas or she thought it wouldn't be in until early Spring.  We don't care....we just thought the experience was fun!
We will keep you all posted on when and if it comes out!
Decorating the Tree
December 5, 2004
Tonight we started putting up the tree.  I was so excited when I saw the box.  I did try to help for a little bit but it was more fun pulling all the pieces out of the box and laying them all over the floor.  I did a pretty good job of handing Daddy the right colors that he needed.  I also have the most fun playing with he beads that go on the tree and I put those all on myself.  I think Mommy got a pretty good picture of that....somehow I don't think she will be leaving them how I had them....oh well, can't help it if they don't know good bead placement when they see it.  Mommy thought that maybe they would get me my own tree to decorate.  I want blue lights on it!  We are hoping to get it and the house finished tomorrow and do some shopping for the holiday.
Visiting with Santa
December 6, 2004
FINALLY!  I sat with Santa and was not afraid!  Mommy told me we were going to go see him at the mall and I could tell him what I want for Christmas.  He was sitting on a big chair in front of this really big sculpted sand castle thing...it was huge!  He saw me coming and waved to me.  I waved back.  There was no line so I was able to walk right up to him...we talked for a little bit.  He asked me if I wanted to sit on his lap and I politely replied, "no thanks"....but Mommy and his candy cane convinced me that it was okay.  I got right up there and we chatted quite a bit.  I told him about our tree at home and that I wanted a big truck.  He asked me if I was being a good little boy and I told him, "yes".  We smiled nice so the lady could take our picture.  Now, I can't wait to see if he will bring me what I asked for!
The Polar Express
December 6, 2004
Mommy, Daddy and me went to see The Polar Express!  WOW!  What a great movie...it was so cool.  The train was cool.  There were some scary parts too but I was okay.  Mommy and Daddy really thought it was good too.  If you haven't seen this one yet...what are you waiting for?
SpongeBob the Movie
December 13, 2004
This afternoon we finally took some time out from Christmas shopping to go see this movie.  It was pretty good..."fun" were the exact words I used.  I laughed a lot because SpongeBob and Patrick did some pretty silly things!  I really like going to the movies.
Winnie the Pooh has a movie coming out in February that I would like to see!
Deimler's Christmas Party
December 16, 2004
Tonight we got all dressed up for a party at Amanda's Mommy's house.  Boy!  There were a lot of people there...but all I cared about was seeing Amanda and her puppies!  Mommy & Daddy ate some good food and I snacked on candy and cookies.  I did manage to show off for some people a little bit with my silliness and we got to meet Amanda's new boyfriend, Chris.  He "seems" really nice, but I will have to get to know him more.  She was my girlfriend FIRST!!!  So, this will take some getting used to!  If he comes to my house some time and plays trains & cars with me...he will be alright in my book!  :)
Our Christmas Party!
December 17, 2004
Well...we managed to throw together a Christmas party at the last minute!  Mommy kept it small with just us, the Hartley's, Fisher's and Lemmon's in attendance.  Hopefully, we can extend it next year (if Daddy is working).  Everyone brought a yummy snack and we got some pizzas to eat!  Yummy!  I love pizza!  Anyway, I was soo glad that my "best friend", Sam came up for it.  We played so hard all night long.  We got a bit too silly and our Mommy's made us sit down.  I wasn't too happy about that, but Sam's Mommy read The Polar Express to everyone and that was nice.  Hmmm?  Starting a tradition, maybe?  We took pictures of all the couples.  We also took a new group photo.  We hadn't done that since the good-bye party for the Lemmons almost 3 years ago!  A lot has changed since then!
I got some presents from The Lemmons and Hartley's.  A cool race car, sweatshirt, books and art supplies!  THANKS!  The grown-ups did a gift exchange too...Mommy got some smelly soaps and Daddy got a Simpson's game and calendar (how appropriate!)
Everyone had a fun time and I hope we do it again next year.  Also, I hope we continue this getting together more often than not....we were letting too many months go by before seeing each other!
We hope that everyone has a wonderful and safe holiday!
Count Your Blessings...Not Caches Event Cache
December 18, 2004
Our 300th find!  And our very first Event Geocache.  What is an event cache?  Well...it's something set up by someone to get other cachers together to cache, talk and finally put faces to names.  We went to a restaurant in Harrisburg and sat with some really nice people.  One cacher, Kingsting, brought an airplane HotWheels car just for me when he saw that we were coming....he noticed that I always take cars.  How nice was that?!  I thanked him.  Mommy and Daddy played a game and talked with some fellow cachers.  We stayed for a little while because I was on my best behavior.  I got to eat some really yummy fries with ketchup too!  Mommy and me colored a lot while Daddy did most of the mingling.  We also congratulated fellow cachers, "grandma and grandpa" who had 1,000 finds!  They got a gold ammo can filled with all kinds of neat geocaching stuff!  I wonder if we will get one of those when we reach that number?  I hope so!
Merry Christmas 2004!
December 25, 2004
What a nice Christmas I had this year.  I will begin my entry on December 22nd.  Grammy & Pap-Pap were already here for a few days and Mommy, Daddy and Grammy and me decided to take a drive around and look at all the Christmas lights.  We took Grammy to see the Sweet Lights in Hershey and the "Griswold House" that we go to every year!  Boy, they put up more and more lights at that house each year!  Maybe we will get a picture of it next year.
December 23rd:  I went to FunCare with Mommy because today was our party day.  We ate all kinds of sweet treats and had a book exchange.  I got a Thomas book!  Yay!  Daddy and Pa-Pa picked me up early so I could get my hair cut.  I was a good boy for that and excited to get home and play with everyone!
December 24th:  Christmas Eve...everyone was here and we were waiting for JG to arrive.  I took a big nap and when I got up...he was here!  I was so excited to see him.  Pap-Pap told me that he would play trucks with me...and he did!  Pap was making artichokes and Grammy got shrimp for dinner.  I let the grown-ups eat all that stuff.  We made some special cookies for Santa.  I worked really hard on a special one for him.  I also made him some chocolate milk too.  Daddy and me hung the special key for him on our door and then I had to go to bed!  Grammy spent the night with me in my room...so Uncle JG could have a bed to sleep in too.  I was excited to have a "sleep-over" in my room!  Plus, Grammy brought this really cool blow up mattress bed that we slept on!  I slept good all through the night...much better than last year!
December 25th:  Christmas Day!  Mommy said she slept pretty bad...too excited, I guess.  She was anxious for Santa to come too.  I got up and asked Grammy if Santa was here yet?  She said we would have to go downstairs and see.  WOW!  Was he ever....there were presents all the way out to the middle of the living room floor and I got a big boy bike!!  He also remembered to get me a big truck!  It's so big that I could sit in it if I wanted to!  I got all kinds of neat things from everyone!  Some things I got were:  construction cars, a miniature sandbox with construction cars, book, games, computer games, V-Smile game system for the TV, a remote control truck, clothes and money.  I must have been a really good boy and there are some people out there that love me a lot!  THANK YOU TO EVERYONE...and I hope that you all had as merry of a Christmas as me!
