March 2005 Journal

In a like a LION and out like a LAMB is the way March is looking this year!

Finally doing some decorating around this place to make our house a home...so you will be seeing lots of that kind of stuff.  Probably will slow down the amount of times we get to update the site.  But we will try and keep it up to date.

Mommy & Daddy Go On A Date!
March 5, 2005
Boy, it's been a long time since Mommy and Daddy have been able to go out...alone!  I don't know why they would want to go anywhere without me, but that's okay.  All I know is that I got to spend the whole night with Amanda!  I was so excited when I heard about her coming that I kept asking Mommy all day about it.  Finally, after my nap...I laid upstairs and waited by my window until I saw her coming!
Mommy & Daddy went to see a play, Miss Saigon, at the dinner theater.  They said it was really good and had a really nice time.  I was a good boy for Amanda and I hope she comes back to see me soon.  It had been way too long since I had seen her last!
Geocaching Adventure
March 6, 2005
The recent snowfall and frigid temperatures, haven't kept us from going after a newly place geocache.  Finally, a new one, easy enough for me, was placed nearby.  The weather was rather mild today also...so off we went.  There was a lot of snow and obvious tracks in the snow for us to follow, but we still had a nice time and hike.  I managed, with minimal complaint, to hike it all by myself with no help!  Daddy and Mommy "couldn't" find it, so I had to...it was hidden in a rock under a big piece of bark.  Being a new cache, it had a lot of nice stuff in it....I got a NEW matchbox car, already recognizing it as one I have, but who cares....cars are cars!  We traded some hand warmers for it, replaced and hid it better than before and began the trek back home.  Geocaching is still a lot of fun for us...can't wait for the weather to get a bit warmer.  Daddy has an idea cooked up for a new one that will blow everyone away!
Placing MY First Geocache!
March 13, 2005
We decided to take over a recently archived cache and place a new one...it turned out to be the one that we had taken the photographer to when we did that article for the paper.  I haven't placed one yet, so we decided now was as good a time as any.  We went shopping at Wal-Mart and I picked out all kinds of goodies to put in it.  We decided to name it "Little Boys and Their Toys".  (Here is the link).  First, we had to hike back and retrieve the old one we were replacing and gather up any "geo-junk" that was laying around.  We were able to rescue only a few things from it that hadn't gotten ruined in the weather.  Mommy, Daddy and me hiked all around the Game Lands, until we found the perfect spot.  We made it kind of simple since it is a "kid-friendly" cache.  I was able to get around with little help so, I am sure everyone else will have an easy time of it too.  My favorite part of the day was playing in and around the creek.  I got pretty wet and muddy but that's what taking extra clothes and shoes are for!  The weather was okay, just a bit chilly...we are sure Spring is just around the corner!
Hershey's Chocolate World
March 13, 2005
We were in Hershey today...eating lunch...so I asked Daddy if we could go to Chocolate World.  "Sure, why not?"  I was so excited to go...it's only about our 20th time there and I love it every time!  My favorite part is the cow and the conching machines...yummy!  Plus, you get a Hershey Bar at the end.  What's better than that?

Happy St. Patty's Day!
March 17, 2005
I woke up this morning, just like I always do and went downstairs to get my chocolate milk and....the living room and kitchen were a MESS!  Those silly, tricky leprechauns struck again!  They had my toys everywhere, all the couch cushions thrown all over, the chairs were all upside down and toilet paper from the bathroom was all down the hall!  It took me a long time to clean it up but when I was done, I found a little bowl of goodies for me...sticker, lollipops and chewies!  Yummy!
Sam's Birthday Weekend!
March 18-20, 2005
Friday ~ we drove all the way down to Sam's house tonight.  We were making good time on the highways but did hit some traffic that slowed us down...but we still managed to arrive around 9 o'clock, which was plenty of time to play!  Sam and I were soo excited to see each other and begin playing.  The grown-ups did some visiting but I honestly couldn't tell you what about...heehee.  We played trains, tractors, cars, and on the computer.  It was time for bed, so we "camped out" in Sam's room.  Mommy and Daddy weren't sure how I would do, but I did just fine.

Saturday ~ Today is Sam's big party but we spent the morning playing and driving Sam's present, his Gator truck, around the backyard!  It was soo cool.  We also played a lot of "soldiers"...Sam has cool gun toys that make noise.  We ran around shooting everyone that was a bad soldier...that was usually the grown-ups or Sam's sister, Sarah.  Sam's party started around 1 and a lot of his friends came.  It was really nice and they were all nice to me too.  We played outside, ate cake and ice cream and helped Sam open his presents.  He got a lot of nice stuff.  Later that night, we all (The Hartley's too) went out to this pizza place for dinner...we had a really nice time.  I ate my whole slice...even the pepperoni!  After dinner, since we were good...we went to Dairy Queen for ice cream!  Sam and I were so tired that we fell asleep in his mom and dad's bed watching movies!  I think the grown-ups stayed up and played games.

Sunday ~ When we got up this morning, Sam's mommy had a hug breakfast cooking for everyone, eggs, bacon, sausage gravy, and biscuits.  Everyone really enjoyed it.  After the Hartley's headed back home we all decided to go to one of the museums in DC.  We decided on the new Air & Space Museum, since no one had been there yet.  It was a huge place and was really neat to see all the planes up close.  There sure were a lot of them and some were very unique and a lot had some major history stories to go a long with them.  My favorite was the space shuttle and rockets.  Daddy and me rode in one of the simulators.  Mommy said she was worried about me in there...but I thought it was the best thing!  I laughed and laughed...so much that I had the people in there with us...laughing at me!  heehee.  We went to the gift shop and got our magnet...and I got some space shuttle chewies and some astronaut ice cream food...it was yummy!

Our day had come to a quick end, as did our weekend.  It was time to say good-bye and head home.  I didn't want to leave my buddy.  I hope he can come and visit us soon or we can plan another trip down sooner than later!

THANKS TO THE LEMMONS FAMILY FOR SUCH A NICE WEEKEND!
Coloring Easter Eggs
March 22, 2005
Tonight we colored our eggs for Easter.  I helped Mommy fix all the dyes.  We mixed vinegar and I put in the tablets of color.  I had fun splashing the eggs in the cups and fishing them back out.  We made a whole bunch, so I hope everyone is hungry for boiled eggs...heehee!  I made one for everyone in my family!  I can't wait for the Easter bunny to come...I hope he brings me lots of candy!

Too Much Gum?
March 23, 2005
Tonight I learned a very valuable lesson...well...Mommy & Daddy hope that I did.  Let's see...Mommy was working on the computer and Daddy was sleeping on the couch.  I was bored and remembered that Mommy had just bought some chewing gum at the store...she got some yummy green apple and a minty kind.  I managed to "eat" all of it before getting caught...probably about 28 pieces!  Mmmm!  Let's say that Mommy wasn't very happy when she came out and found all the wrappers all over the table!  Daddy was woken rather quickly too...heehee.  I was okay for a little bit, managed to get my bath and watch some TV before going to bed.  Every now and again complaining of a belly ache.  Funny, Mommy didn't seem to feel all that bad for me.  Well...I didn't make it much longer before all of that gum came back up!  I had to get another bath and change my PJ's again...but I would have to say I felt much better....:)

Happy Easter Weekend
March 25 - 28, 2005
The Easter holiday came upon us fast!  Mommy likes it better when Easter is in April!  Anyways, Grandparents Wiles and Proper came for the whole weekend.  Uncle JG came up on Saturday. Aunt Susan & Uncle Allen joined us on Sunday.  I was so excited to have a house full of people to play trains and cars with me!  I would just wear out one relative after another.  I even suckered Pap-Pap into playing Playdoh with me!  Grammy got me some cool new trains, some new Percy's' and a Chocolate Factory!  Grandma Proper got me some cool Easter stuff too...lots of eggs and most important...M&M's! Uncle JG got me a cool, red Starsky & Hutch car...it has big back tires.  Uncle Allen & Aunt Susan brought me a big jug of money and want me to pick out a playground for my backyard!  I would like one with 2 slides!  That should be fun to watch them build...and I hope that they let me help!

Easter morning I found my basket on the floor with all kinds of goodies in it!  A huge chocolate bunny, jelly beans and peanut butter eggs!  I also got a new Acceleracers HotWheels car!  It's awesome!

A few funny stories from the weekend were when I pointed out a picture of Jesus and asked Uncle JG if he was a "good guy"...he told me "yes"...so, I wanted to know "if he's a good guy then why did they hang him on there (pointing to the cross pic)?"  I thought that was a pretty good question.  Then later when Mommy pointed to a picture of Jesus and asked me who it was, I told her it was "David Hasselhoff"!  Everyone thought that was pretty funny.  Guess I have watched the SpongeBob movie one too many times!

Well...Happy Easter everyone!  I hope you all enjoyed your holiday!
