It's Bowling Season!
October 1st, 2006
Well, actually you can bowl all year round, I suppose...but we like to save it for the Fall/Winter season.  I've been asking to go all week, so this morning we got up and went!
I LOVE IT!  I did so good and was excited that I got FIVE splits!  Woo-Hoo!  I'm still learning the whole "roll" the ball down the lane thing.  It 's hard, as the ball is still a bit heavy for me.   Mommy did really good and Daddy, well....he had an "off" day.  Mommy had a "smokin' strike"!  The animation for it was funny...the ball was on fire running around the pins!
We are hoping to get to Rock -n- Glow Bowl night this year...just need to assemble the gang!

Fall Harvest Festival
October 1st, 2006
Today was a fun afternoon spent with friends, Jen and Darrin.  Their church was having a fund-raising festival to raise money for their Thanksgiving basket project.  During the Thanksgiving holiday their church assembles over 400 baskets filled with food for the holiday meal and disperses them to the needy families in the community.
After some quick geocaching we headed over there to participate in the festivities.  We had a nice time.  I climbed in some of those blow-up amusement ride things, made a spin art, rode a "train" ride (twice), we all went on a hayride, played some games (one of which I dunked their Pastor into the tank :), I got cheers from everyone in line and then he tried to splash me!  It was funny!), and boy, did we all eat some yummy food!  Daddy and Darrin were most excited about the roasted pig!  I got myself some yummy cotton candy!  It was HUGE and only cost ONE dollar!  I ate it all up and would not share any of it.
They also had the local fire department there giving rides in their ladder truck, I just watched that...you weren't getting me up there!  Then we got to see something cool...a hot-air balloon company came...it was fun watching them set up the balloon!  Boy, they are huge.  They game tethered rides too....again, I passed.  It looked really pretty when it started to get dark and you could see the fire light it all up!  We stayed the whole time and just really enjoyed ourselves.  There was a good turn out of people and I hope they were able to raise enough money for their baskets of goodies.  We made sure that between all of us we spent enough to buy 2 baskets!   Their goal for this year is 700 baskets, we'll have to let you know how they did!

OH NO!
October 3, 2006
Daddy took the day off to do some geocaching with some friends.  Well...he took the camera with him...and LOST it!  He noticed it pretty early in his adventures and they searched and searched, but no luck.  Bummer.  We lost all our pictures from the Harvest Festival, but nothing that was too extra special or out of the ordinary.  Mommy is pretty sure she knows what happened...the snap was kind of rusted (thanks to another one of Daddy's geo-adventures...ahem, noticing a pattern here...heehee).  Daddy probably thought he had it snapped on and in reality it was not, on jostle/stumble and off it went.  Daddy thinks after retracing his steps numerous times, that it's floating down the river.  :(
Guess we are going camera shopping this week!

New Camera!
October 6, 2006
We can not go very long without a camera!  So, tonight we headed to Best Buy.  We got the Kodak EasyShare C875 Zoom Digital Camera.  It is an 8 mega pixel and 5X optical zoom camera.  Much, much better than our old one.  We should be able to get much better zoomed photos than before.  It is bigger than our old camera, but still a nice compact size.

Soccer Game #5
October 7, 2006
We had an early game today...and it was cold outside.  Mommy bundled me all up in layers of long clothes.
Well, that didn't matter...I didn't feel like playing and I came up with every excuse in the book to not do so.  First, I didn't feel good, then I was too tired, then it was too cold....blah, blah, blah.  I simply refused to go out there.  I wanted to go home.  Daddy and Mommy were not very happy with me.  They made me stay and watch the game and I wasn't even allowed to sit down or lean on them!  I was NOT happy and it made for quite an embarrassing moment for all of us.
Mommy and Daddy talked to me about being a part of a team, how you can't let people down.  I think I kind of understand, but life is all about me, isn't it?  I'm confused.  I wasn't happy when Daddy called Amanda to tell her we wouldn't be going to the corn maze.  Everyone was really disappointed...it was a disappointing kind of day, and to tap things off the sun never did come out!  We would like to just scratch this day off our calendars and out of our minds and move on.
Daddy talked to the coach about me.  I have them all confused.  I really enjoy (well, seem to anyways) soccer practice and even playing in the games when I did before.  I have more practices coming up and a game this week.  I'm under some strict rules and consequences for this upcoming game.  Wish me luck!  I'm sure Mommy will fill you all in on how I do.  I've heard them talking about what may be going on with me.  I guess they have some ideas.  My "bathroom" issues may have caused some of this past games malfunction.

It's Fall
October 8, 2006
What a beautiful day!  Compared to yesterday...that we have already forgotten about, well to a point.  I wasn't allowed to watch any TV, my movies or play my computer or video games!  Anyway, Daddy cleaned up , well started to, the garage.  I helped him to organize his workbench/peg board.  That was fun.  I lined up all his wrenches from longest to shortest, so he knew how to hang them up.  Mommy was busy cleaning up the house (man, she is always doing that!) and decorating for Fall/Halloween!  We went to Pumpkin World and got our pumpkins, gourds and hay bale for outside.  This year, Mommy bought some Mums.  They sure do look pretty outside...I wonder if she will "kill" those too!  We aren't much into plants around here!
We ended our night with an ice cream treat from Brusters.  Yummy!

Soccer Game #6
October 11, 2006
We were lucky tonight, my game didn't get rained out!  I did much better for this game.  Tonight, for the first time, I played defense.  This position is hard for me, as there isn't much action and as you have been told before, I have a hard time remaining focused.  I did a good job though, I held my position like I was supposed too and did kick a few balls out from near the goal.  THEN...Coach Matt asked me if I wanted to be goalie!  YEA!  This was hard, as it gets kind of boring...but I did pay attention and got ready when I saw the other team or ball coming my way.  I didn't have to stop any balls though, my teammates did a great job at keeping it away!
We didn't score any points this game but we all had a fun time.  I only have one "official" game left and then we have a tournament play day!

Soccer Game #7
October 14, 2006
The Hartley's came to watch me play my soccer game today!  I told the coaches that I wanted to play defense, so they let me.  I played that position for almost the entire game.  I didn't see the ball much this time, as my team pretty much dominated the ball.  We scored 2 goals this week.  I did get to kick the ball out a few times.  Even though I don't appear to be paying much attention to the game, I am ready when I do see the ball coming my way.

Coaches said only one soccer practice this week and then it's "play day"!  Rumor has it that Uncle JG will be coming...I hope he can make it for sure!

A Weekend at Tanglewood Cabin
October 14-15th, 2006
Saturday ~ The Hartley's invited us for another weekend at the cabin....we were excited to go...and boy, was it cold!  We went there right after my game, and it was colder inside than it was outside!  Brrr....Darrin turned on the heaters while Jen got stuff ready for lunch!  We ate yummy burgers (the size of small aircrafts!) and hot dogs!  Jen made some yummy homemade soup...well, the grown-ups said it was yummy.  After we ate, we loaded up in the car and headed to a trail called, Poole Steeple.  It was a nice hike in the state forest that was mostly straight up!  Everyone couldn't get over how well I did.  It was fun, there were all kinds of rocks to climb on the way to the top!  I was pretending that that dirt was "hot lava" and you couldn't fall in!  It made for a fun hike, a bit longer than the boys had anticipated us to get there, but Mommy kept reminding them that "it's not reaching the destination, it's the journey of getting there!"  (We need to have that quote somewhere displayed in our house!)  Anyway, we stopped on a nice large rock to take a rest and get some water...and I found a neat "face" in the rock.  I had Daddy take my picture with it, but I don't think he got the "face" in it.  Oh well.  Then, they all had me turn around and there was this huge mountain (technically a large quartzite rock outcropping) of rock that just appeared from the trees!  Then they said we were going on top of it!  YIKES!  What?!  Are you joking?  Daddy and Darrin discussed following the trail that goes around to the back....OR heading straight up the front, on the less traveled path.  (Oh, by the way, this was the busiest place for a hike, we never saw so many people on a hike before, it's a pretty popular place!).  Mommy and Jen decided to go around, since the pregnant lady probably shouldn't be climbing up a mountain!  I, yes, Cole Proper, decided to go with the boys.  They said "okay" and up we went...I climbed those rocks like a mad man!  Daddy could barely keep up with me, Darrin couldn't get far enough ahead of me to get a decent picture!  It was so much FUN!  Daddy kept calling me his little rock climber!  Fearless, I was and couldn't wait to get to the top!  We climbed up over about the same time that the girls got there!  They couldn't believe that I did it either!  It was soo cool up there!  We sat down and took a few photos and enjoyed the view.  We could see for miles! We were hoping to see some more Fall colors on the leaves, but we must have been a week too soon, oh well...it was still pretty!  After some exploring and I could have stayed longer...we headed back down...this was a lot harder...but I did it.  Walking almost the entire way down by myself.  I only slipped and fell once.  Daddy carried me on his shoulders for the last "leg" of the hike and to the car.
Next, we decided to check out that POW camp that we found last time we came to the cabin.  Daddy wanted to drop off some travel bugs at it and take some more photos of things we missed last time.  Boy, does Mother Nature like to reclaim it's own!  Things were really overgrown this time...we had a hard time finding some of the stuff.  It was fun exploring, this time we found a free standing wall that was left of a barn.
Time to head back to the cabin for dinner and games and of course, marshmallow sandwiches!  Yummy!  We all laughed that we were exhausted by 9 o'clock and in bed that early!  I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow!

Sunday ~  We woke to the smell of a yummy breakfast cooking.  Darrin made me pancakes!  I love Darrin...he's going to make a great Dad!  heehee.  We decided that we all felt good enough to do some geocaches before our day had to end.  Daddy found some that were close and would be easy hikes.  One was on this back road that you really would need 4-wheel drive if the weather was anything but sunny!  Anyway, it was called Hammond Rocks and they are located in Michaux State Forest.  This was an Earthcache so it has to bring you to an interesting geological area and teach you something about it.  Link to Hammonds Rocks geocache.  I loved this one too...there were a lot of rocks to climb and explore!  We spent a long time here.  Sadly, there was a lot of graffiti and broken glass in the area, so I did have to be careful.  I thought the graffiti was nice.  I thought they were "clues written in Chinese!".   Everyone just laughed at me!  We ventured to another geocache that I found really quickly and it was time to head home!

We had such a nice weekend!  I can't wait to do it again!  Thanks to the Hartley's for inviting us!

My First Official Day of Preschool
October 16, 2006
I have a new teacher, Ms. Kristi.  She started last week, but things are now "officially" in swing for the year.  We are talking about Fall and starting over with our letters.  This week is "A".  I'm learning a lot this year, especially now that I don't have to take a nap and I get to go back with Ms. Cathy in the kindergarten room and have lessons with her too!  We are talking about Spiders and learning the letter "H"!  Hope I don't get confused!  Heck, with all this "learning" I won't need kindergarten!  HA!

Soccer Play Day ~ A Season Ends
October 21, 2006
Today was our soccer play day!  I was excited because Uncle JG came to visit for the weekend and to see me play.  Our day started early, as our first game was at 9 o'clock.  I played a little defense and offense.  Unfortunately, our team lost, so we had to come back to play again at 11.  I played both positions again and my team did a great job, but we lost again, so the "play day" was over for us.  Our coaches had a pizza party for us after the game and they presented all of us with a ribbon, a medal (which is really cool, it has my name, year and number on it!) and we also got a CD for the computer with a picture slide show of my teammates playing throughout the season.
I was sure to thank all of my coaches and they said that they hope to see me playing again next year.

Pumpkin Carving!
October 26, 2006
We stopped at the Milton Hershey School to buy some pumpkins for carving and got a great deal on some pumpkins!  Since the "holiday" season is almost over they were on sale...so we loaded up!  We bought a whole bunch, some big ones, little ones, goofy shaped and bumpy ones!
I picked out some that we painted and then I drew faces on two of the pumpkins for us to carve.  Daddy started carving the small one while I did the big one!  Daddy's pumpkin gave him an awful time!  There was something wrong with the shell on it...it was about a half inch thick and hard as a rock!  Daddy asked me if I accidentally picked out an orange coconut!  I laughed and said no!  We got through it without Daddy having to resort to using his jigsaw from the garage...although that would have made for a funny picture!  We scooped out the "guts" (still not my favorite part, so I used the fancy spoon Mommy bought), Mommy cleaned off the seeds and toasted them.  Daddy and me lit the candles and put them on the porch!

I can't wait for Halloween!

Halloween Party #1
October 27, 2006
Today was my Halloween party in Ms. Cathy's class!  I took pretzels (that Mommy covered in white chocolate...yummy!) and chips.  I also made my teacher a Halloween mug filled with candy corn!  She loved it!
Anyway, everyone thought my costume was great!  I told Mommy it would be awesome....and she said she had to agree that I looked "awesome" in it!  A lot of my friends were out sick, either ate too much candy trick or treating the night before...or something is going around.  So, only 4 of my friends were at school.  They had cool costumes too.  In attendance were:  The Flash (that's me!), Cinderella, Leonardo Ninja Turtle, and the Little Mermaid.  We had fun running around in our costumes and then we watched 2 Halloween movies!  It was a fun day and a great way to end the week!

Friendly Get Together
October 27, 2006
We finally got together with friends tonight and got to see the Fisher's new house AND celebrate Maysen's 2nd birthday!  I picked out a really cool gift for her and she LOVED it!  It was a little art easel made by Parents.  One side was for markers and the other was a magnetic chalk board.  It came with chalk, markers, these cool magnetic stencil shapes and paper.  It has a neat storage compartment and it all folds up so you can carry it and take it with you.  Maysen and I played with it for a long time.  Mommy said my behavior was pretty good, but I just don't do well with kids that much younger than me.  It was a struggle for me to be polite, and I did okay.  Mommy said it was just a reminder of why I may never have a sibling.  Oh well.  The grown-ups had a nice time visiting with each other, it had been since my party that we all have gotten together...again, far too long!  How does that happen?  We hope to get together again soon....and definitely for the holidays.  It's too bad that we all decided to move so far away from each other...ugh, what were we thinking?

Happy Birthday Derrick
October 28, 2006
My friend Derrick turned six years old!  He had a Halloween theme party...so, I got to get all decked out in my costume again!  Daddy took me to his party, stayed for a little while and decided I was doing fine all by myself!  We had a great time playing with Derrick's toys in his newly remodeled basement!  We ate yummy cake and ice cream, played games and just had a fun time being with friends!  I got Derrick a cool Lego's City Ambulance.  I like these things so much that I figured he would too!
What a fun day!  I love parties!

Hershey Park in the Dark
October 28, 2006
We went to Hershey tonight for their Halloween festivities.  I wore my awesome Flash costume and got all kinds of compliments on it.  I  must say it again, I look pretty awesome in it.
First, we had to go to Chocolate World!  I got my trick or treat bag and we rode the factory tour ride...again.  It would be interesting to know just how many times we have done that.
I rode my favorites, the train, the cars, the rockets over and over again.  About 3 times each!  Daddy and me went on the new Reese Challenge Laser Tag ride.  It was really cold and windy out.
We walked through the new Treatsville and I got some more candy there!  The weather did put a damper on things for us, but we still had a good time and decided to go home, order a pizza and make some hot chocolate.
It was a fun night.  Happy Halloween!

Bummer...I have the flu!
October 29, 2006
Well, I was supposed to spend the day with my friend Drew, but while Mommy, Daddy and I were out for breakfast, I started not feeling too good.  Mommy and Daddy decided that plans had to be scrapped and we would have to head back home.  Mommy and Daddy were going to spend the day geocaching up some mountain.  It wasn't long before I fell back asleep and ended up throwing up all over my room and my bathroom.  Sorry.
It's going around at my school and Mommy hasn't been feeling that great herself.  I am staying home with Mommy tomorrow and hopefully, will be back to my old self for Tuesday.  It's party day at school AND trick or treat night!  I don't want to miss either of those!

School Halloween Party
October 31, 2006
I'm all better and ready for a party!  Today, was my preschool party and parade.  Ms. Kristi had the room all decorated with streamers, the lights out and spooky music playing!  She was dressed up too!  She was a witch!  My friends liked my costume and they had some neat ones too!  Let me see if I can remember what everyone was...there was SuperGirl, Spiderman, Barbie, The Hulk, and 2 Batman's.  We had a fun day of activities after the parade.  Mommy is hoping Ms. Kristi got some pictures because Mommy was too busy with her class to get any of mine.  Anyway, we had a pumpkin painting contest, which I won the Most Creative award, guess how many candy corns game, I won that too, and a Mummy race!  We had to wrap a friend up in toilet paper...it was funny!

Trick or Treat!
October 31, 2006
Our trick or treat night was tonight....and boy, we could not have had better weather!  I was able to wear light clothes under my costume as it was almost 70 degrees outside with no wind!  We got an early start, right out of the gate at 6pm!  I hit the neighbors that I know first and then around the block we went!  Everyone was out....there sure were a lot of kids running around...and parents chasing after them!  Not me...I take my time.  I think Daddy thinks I'm nuts!  Some people sure do go all out to decorate their house for Halloween and especially this special night!  I told Mommy that I wasn't to make our house spooky for next year.  This one house, which we tried to take a photo but it was so dark outside.  You have to go in their garage and it was all dark and smokey and they had a table set up with rats, skeletons, body parts on a pizza!  It was cool!  Then we saw the fire company was in our neighborhood, so we stopped there and the fireman gave me a whole handful of candy and a light up necklace to wear!  That was nice of them!  Anyway, after the one giant loop that we made, I had about enough and kept asking if we were done yet?  I had enough candy....my bucket was full and heavy!  I wanted to go home and help pass out the candy but when we got home...our candy was gone!  Oh my...we ran out, only 1 hour in to trick or treat night!  Sorry.   Guess Mommy miscalculated the number of kids that would be out!  Guess we will buy triple that amount for next year.  Daddy talked to the neighbors and they said that they had gone over 300 some pieces!  That's a lot of trick or treaters!

Happy Halloween!
