Happy Birthday
Mom!
December 1, 2008 |
Well, Dad is
out hunting today.....and I still have one day off of school.
Mom and I decided that we would go see the movie Bolt "for her
birthday"!
The movie was really good, we both laughed a lot. The
drive home was interesting, as we were almost to our house, when
this awful noise starting coming from the Pathfinder. I'm
yelling at Mom to pull over, but we were in a spot where we
could not. Then we figured out what it was....my charger
for my DS, which was still connected to the outlet in the car,
must have gotten kicked out of the car door, then got wet, and
then EXPLODED! Mom quickly unplugged it from the car and
all was fine. Well....the adapter wasn't, we got home in
the driveway and found just a severed cord! Some black
marks on the side of the car, but nothing serious! Whoops!
I didn't want her to tell Dad...I thought he would be mad at us!
THEN, after only moments of being home...we got the craziest of
storms. We did notice the sky was very grey when we were
leaving the theater, but it's winter, the sky is always grey.
Anyway, it starts to thunder and I mean LOUD thunder, giant
bolts of lightening and then hail, hail coming down so fast that
the streets and sidewalks were covered in complete whiteness in
only a matter of seconds. I told mom this was the worst
day of my life! The storm lasted about 10
minutes...THEN...the sun came out and we had the most awesome
full arch rainbow (the pic didn't come out) in our backyard!
Happy Birthday Mom!

Hunting Season
December 1 -
3rd, 2008 |
Well, only
Dad was able to head to Grandparents Proper for hunting season
this year, I had my bowling party and school to go to. It
was weird being home and we are gonna make it for sure next
year...well, we hope to.
Anyway, Dad and Pa-Pa had a busy day of shooting but no so much
actually getting a deer! Dad still is grumbling around
about the one he missed...and he has no idea how he missed her!
Guess that happens. Also, Pa-Pa nearly got ran over by
one! Guess that happens too...as the funny story Dad tells
about the one time while he was "taking a leak" he nearly got
taken out! HA!
Dad and Pa got 2 full days and a half day of hunting in, the
snow kind of kept them at bay, it was too deep and hard to walk
in. Plus, Dad had to leave and go to a conference in Penn
State for work.
So, no deer for Dad this season...boo....not sure how long it's
been since that has happened...awhile, I think. Pa-Pa was
able to continue after he got home from work, he had about an
hour of sun left...he did get lucky and got one! YAY!
A small one, but hey, better than none!
Maybe next year will be better...I'll be there to cheer you on!

Glow Bowling
Party!
December 2, 2008 |
Back to
school for me today, my holiday break is over!
I was excited for today since it was my last day of afterschool
bowling and we were having a pizza and glow bowling party!
I like glow bowling, it's when they turn off all the lights and
put the neon ones on and play music! It was a fun time.
Mom thought I would take a session off of bowling, since my
buddies were (they were going to do basketball), but I changed
my mind and told Mom that I really like it and want to keep
going!
So, I can't wait for session 2 to begin!

Annual
Holiday Party with Friends
December 5th
- 7th, 2008 |
Yes, a
weekend long holiday party! Woo-Hoo!
Every year we try to get together with our friends for a holiday
party. It gets harder and harder to manage everyone's
schedules, so unfortunately our friends, The Fisher's, weren't
able to make it this year. :(
This year, it was The Lemmons turn to host....and they live in
West Virginia! It's a long drive (takes us about 6 hours
to get there, without stopping) so we knew we wanted more than a
"weekend" to visit. Mom and Dad got me excused from school
and we left after the bus dropped me off on Thursday. We
also knew we wanted nice weather, that drive over the mountains
can be tough...we were lucky to have clear skies (for both
trips, over and back).
Thursday night ~ We made plans to meet up with the
Hartley's - a few hours in to the trip - for dinner. We
all had a nice meal at Bob Evans. Grey is funny, he likes
to eat lemons! Plus, he calls my Mom "Amy Cole" like that
is her whole name! heehee.
Let's see, we got to Sam's house a little after midnight.
I managed to stay awake almost the whole time, playing my DS
until the battery died, (see entry above, why I didn't have a
charger for the car!), I probably slept for the last hour of the
trip.
It didn't take long for us all to get settled, and I crashed on
the floor in Sam's room!
Friday ~ I was excited to play with my friends, the next
morning I was up and ready to visit. I only got to talk to
Sam for a little bit, he had to go to school in the morning, to
take some tests, then his mom was picking him up early!
Sarah and I played really nice during this time...so that was
kind of nice that we had our own time to "connect". Mom
seems to think this helped with our behavior towards her (not
that there weren't some moments).
The one fun thing we did was play the Wii! Sam has a Wii
(well, I guess it's his families, but I refer to everything
being Sam's) and he has the BEST GAME EVER for it....Mario Kart!
It was so much fun, even the grown-ups would play it. Are
you sitting down? EVEN MOM played! I kicked her butt
though.
During this morning time...Darrin, Scott and Scott's boss went
hunting. The Lemmons live on a lot of acres, so he is
allowed to hunt on it. This was Darrin and Scott's first
time hunting. They were gone all morning and a little
after lunch time we heard them come back. Darrin got a
deer! Yea, for him! It was a very, very, small
one...but hey, better than no deer (sorry Dad!).
Sam got home from school and we played and played...tore up the
playroom good. My buddy likes Lego's too, so we were busy
creating that...then we played "spies" and Scott's boss had
brought walkie-talkie radios for them to use while hunting, but
he let us play with them....it was fun! Once all the
hunters were in for the day, we got to play outside. It
was cold but we bundled up...we played Army, guard the fort.
That night, we all decided we wanted to go out for dinner...to
that place we went last time where they cook on the "table".
The Japanese Hibachi restaurant. It was a fun dinner, they
put us in a back room that could fit us all together...and
probably since we were a "quiet" group - HA! After some
behavior issues with me and Sam and some seat
rearranging...things were fine...and super FUN! The
grown-ups decided they wanted sushi, so everyone ordered their
own and then the passing around of the plates to share began.
Then our chef came in and got the grill ready, he poured this
oil all over it and then lit is on fire! Whooosh!
That was great! Then he dazzled us with some fancy slicing
and dicing...tossing things all over the place. He tossed
an egg right into Ms. Jen's sweet tea! We still don't know
if that was on purpose, we are thinking no, as her glass was
sitting right next to the place he was tossing things into!
It was funny as Jen LOVES her some sweet tea, and well, you
just can't get that here in Harrisburg! Then he started
tossing shrimp at anyone (I passed, but Sam tried) who wanted to
try it. Everyone caught theirs, it was quite impressive!
Then the food began to get served....Dad ordered filet mignon
and lobster. I wanted to try his "steak" and I LOVED IT!
He couldn't keep me out of it!
Mom got Mahi-Mahi (she told me it was some kind of fancy
chicken) so I tried and ate that! I had my own chicken and
ate up all of that! I even used my chopsticks! We
all stuffed our bellies and agreed that this is the place for us
to go when we visit.
It was late when we got home....all us kids were getting tired.
We got to set up our sleeping bags in the playroom and watch
movies until we all crashed. I was the last one up,
usually am! What a fun day/night...and we still have more
left!
Saturday ~ It's party day! Officially, but it's
been a party all weekend, in my opinion. The guys decided
to go out and hunt again for a few hours in the morning, but no
luck again. It did start to snow, so that was exciting for
us...but it was just way too cold to go out in it. Plus,
it was a fine snow...so it looked pretty falling all day, but
never really accumulated into much of anything on the ground!
Sarah's birthday is on Monday, so we decided to celebrate it
today. Her parents got her a cake and we all gave her
presents. I picked out Littlest Pet Shop toys and a book!
She got a DS of her own (pink) and the Hartley's got her a game
to play on it!
Sam, Sarah and I played more spy games and other fun kid
stuff....oh, and more Wii games. Then Mom had a craft for
us to do. We built our own gingerbread (we used graham
crackers) houses. It was fun and we worked on them
for well over an hour! Everyone did a great job and they all
looked "good enough to eat"! Even Grey made his own little
tree...which he DID promptly eat! YUM!
Ms. Jen (Sam's mom) had been working hard all day on dinner for
our party. She made home-made lasagna. From what I
hear, it was great. Us kids had spaghetti, and it was
awesome. I love me a good plate of spaghetti, the more
sauce and sprinkle cheese the better!
It was time to put on our festive PJ's and get ready for
presents! D'oh, those grown-ups made us take pictures
first! This went much faster than in times past, probably
helps that we are all getting older. We still had our
moments of picture taking stress though! We did have some
issues with the camera focusing on weird things and the lighting
was goofy in some...but we got ones that are good enough!
Bring on the gifts people! I helped to pass them out.
I got Sarah some horses that came in a stable (she thought it
was awesome) and some more Little Pet shop stuff...Grey got her
Little Pet Shop stuff too. Grey opened his, he got a Leap
Frog toy from me. It goes on the fridge and helps with
learning the ABC's. Sam & Sarah got him a cool book and
the new version of the Bristle Block! Sam opened his gifts
too...I got him RISK (The board game! He yelled when he
opened it!) and the Hartley's got him a Lego Technic set.
It was my turn...and Lemmons got me some Sea Monkeys, Blendy
Pens and a Star Wars book. I got the Lego Technic set too!
Sam and I were soon into those and building away! We both
got the same one, so when we got stuck we tried to help each
other out before asking a grown-up. During all this
time the grown ups were opening gifts too....I think they got a
bunch of nice things as well! Thanks to everyone!
Sunday ~ Today was the day that we needed to head
back home. The snow from yesterday was still lingering but
had stopped falling at least. The plow had gone down one
side of The Lemmons (awful) road that they live on! Yea,
they are on a county line and I guess one county is great with
plowing and the other...well, not so much!
Anyway, the morning started out with a great HUGE breakfast that
Ms. Jen always fixes for us when we visit. We had
everything, pancakes, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs and
biscuits with sausage gravy! Dad got a kick out of their
bottle of REAL maple syrup - it came from SPARTY! His
hometown!
After breakfast, while my mom was packing us up....the Dad's
took us kids out for some sledding! Well, all the Dad's
but mine, he was working on Jen's camera/computer getting
pictures, and he didn't bring extra shoes/clothes for the snow,
and since he had to drive....well...he needed to stay dry.
Anyway, Sam has the BEST hill for sledding...it just stinks that
it's right next to the road. The Dad's stayed at the top
for safety reasons....plus, no one drives on this road unless
they live on it! We had a great time, Sam and I would go
down together and/or take turns going solo. Grey was not
scared at all, he went down with Sarah, she did a great job of
holding on to him...AND he went by himself once too!
Soon it was time to come back in and get warmed up, then it was
time for us to hit the roads, we wanted to get home before it
was too late. I did have school the next day. The
trip started out a bit rocky...first, we were on a road we never
had been and it was clear, but still a bit icy....then I got
sick. Not sure what it was...car sickness or what...I had
to ask Mom and Dad to pull over and we just sat for a bit with
the window down....Dad got me a "bag" (ha, all we had was a gift
bag, Mom said she will come more prepared for car sickness next
time!). We found a gas station and got me some gum to
chew, I did manage to fall asleep for about an hour. After
that I was good to go for the rest of the uneventful trip!
Whew!
Thanks to the Lemmons' for hosting such a fun weekend! We
hope to get together again soon...hopefully ALL of us next time!

Karate Class #2
December 8, 2008 |
Karate is
going strong and quickly this month! Since all of the
holidays are at the end of the month, they need to push things
up a bit. I will be testing this month for my
YELLOW
stripe for "excellence" AND be testing for my new belt - solid
YELLOW this
time! No more "in-between" phases for me!
This month's newsletter theme is about positive/negative
attitudes! I have been working on that with Mom and Dad.
The questions are getting more tricky in my newsletters as they
have been going along. This will be my 8th one! My
Gi pants look pretty cool with all the stars going up the side!
We have been practicing our Universal a lot this month....and we
have been practicing to go along with the music of....EYE OF THE
TIGER! It looks pretty awesome and if you are lucky, I'll
show it to you some time. Maybe Mom will be able to get me
to cooperate for a video clip of it. My parents really
need to get a new video recorder! They are missing a lot
of stuff!
So, it's going to be a busy karate month!

Karate Holiday
Party!
December 13, 2008 |
My karate
school had a holiday party for the students this afternoon!
I was excited to go. Heck, as soon as I found out they
were having one, I told Mom to sign me up! I think I was
the first one on the list!
We were to bring in canned food items for the local food bank,
and I helped Mom pick out a few things.
It was a fun, dump the parents at the door and p-a-r-t-y party!
We played games, did karate stuff, played around with the
"weapons" and ate yummy snacks! We also worked
on making special holiday crafts to send to soldiers who are
fighting for our country and can't get home to their families
this holiday season. I thought that was pretty special.
Sadly too soon, it was over and time
to go home. I got to take a yummy candy cane before I
left.
Man, I am getting excited for Christmas!

Dad's New
Toy!
December 14, 2008 |
So, Dad is
reading the Sunday paper and jumps up off the couch, runs over
to Mom and says "I know what I am spending my birthday money on
from your Mom!" I guess Toys R Us had a misprint in their
add (had to be, and later found out it was) for the Rock Band 2
bundle pack for the Xbox - plus if you bought it you got a $25
gift card to the store! The ad read that they system was
ONLY 109 dollars! It's really something like 190 dollars!
Oops...wonder whose heads are gonna roll for that one!
So, Dad decided to head over there early, hoping they were going
to honor the deal before cooperate called and said to yank it or
whatever corporate can do. Dad spoke with the store
manager and he said they were honoring it. The store had
only been open for (not even) an hour, and people were coming in
like crazy for it. Dad was lucky to get one!
Oh but now WE are the lucky ones...this game is awesome! I
love it! I think Mom likes it too! It's fun to
play, can be frustrating for me and I am learning that "it's
just a game for fun" plus I can't seem to remember that it's a
game for teens - not 7 year olds....and considering, I do pretty
darn good on the guitar! Dad has it set up for easy and
that we can't fail out, so that helps. I usually do
guitar, Dad does drums and Mom sings! Eye of the Tiger is
my favorite one to do!
So, you gotta come over and play ROCK BAND with us! Mom is
wondering where in the heck she is gonna put the stuff now!
The drum set is kind of large! Dad and I think it sits
just fine in the computer room!
ROCK ON PEOPLE!

Karate Class #85
YELLOW STRIPE
Testing (excellence)
December 15, 2008 |
Dad took me
to class tonight! Since belt graduation is on Saturday, we
had to do our stripe testing a few weeks early this month!
We had to show off more skills too, since this is part of
earning your next belt level. I had to do 10 push-ups and
sit-ups, show off all of my Universals that I know and a lot of
other punching and kicking skills!
Happy to say - yellow stripe earned! Woo-Hoo!
I can't wait to get my new belt and start sparring! Hope I
get that stuff for Christmas so I can have my own to use and not
have to borrow from the school!

**Let it
Snow!**
December 16, 2008 |
I went to
school today and it was a bit drizzly out....but man, did it
ever start coming down shortly after lunch! It was soo
pretty...and I was stuck in school, not able to enjoy it at all!
Funny thing is that I still had my bowling after school to go
to...so by the time Dad came and picked me up it was dark
outside! Bummer!
That's okay, I was too excited to come home, get my homework
done and play ROCK BAND!
**Also, snow has caused us to have our first 2-hour delay
tomorrow! Yea, I can sleep in!

Hershey Park's
Christmas CandyLane
December 18, 2008 |
We finally
got a break in the weather to plan a trip to Hershey Park's
Christmas CandyLane! We wanted to go with the Hartley's as
this would be Grey's "first" time actually riding rides and kind
of knowing what is going on!
We all met for dinner first at The Soda Jerk in Hummelstown and
then Mom rode over with Jen and Darrin rode with us...this way,
everyone could get in with Mom and I's season passes and get
free parking! Woo-Hoo!
The park was empty! We couldn't believe just how empty it
was. Not sure if it was due to being a weekend, the
weather (which it was chilly but we all were pretty comfortable)
or sadly, the economy. Probably all a little of each.
Grey likes trains, so we rode the kiddie one first. Well,
Mom and Dad watched and took pictures. Next, Grey wanted
to ride the "neigh-neigh's" aka, Merry Go Round. Not my
favorite ride but I like to ride in the "car" thing. Grey
wasn't too sure of it at first, I mean the thing does go kind of
fast and those horses do get pretty high off the ground, once he
got too busy looking around at things, he was okay. Next,
it was my turn to choose a ride! The BIG train! We
did make a stop on the way though, Grey, Jen and I rode in the
LadyBug ride. Mom was gonna but they said only one
grown-up in a car. Finally, I am a Hershey Bar so that
means I am big enough for the bumper cars! Next, we found
our way to the Big Train! All aboard! I love this
ride, but boy, it went really slow this trip...probably because
of the wind. It was all lit up for Christmas. Toward
the end though, the train got faster and faster...we had fun
yelling and carrying on like fools! Grey really liked this
one, he did not want to get off! We walked down around the
park and found Santa's Reindeer. They were all up and very
active, more than any other year that we've gone to see them.
I enjoy just standing and watching them...we were here for quite
awhile. The lady working there was answering questions,
but I couldn't think of any...I did get to hold and feel a real
reindeer antler though. It was getting later, but we still
had some rides to hit and Santa to see! I needed to talk
to him!
On our way to see Santa we stopped off at 2 more of my favorite
rides...the truck Convoy - I drove and Grey and his Dad rode in
the back. Then the Frog Hopper. I never liked this
ride until this summer, now I love it! Grey was not too
sure about it at first. His Mom asked him and he just
shook his head NO! He kept saying NO but we thought he may
really like it so we thought to give it a shot. So, his
Mom rode and I sat on one side and Grey sat on the other.
Up, up, up it goes - he did not look too sure, then the bouncing
begins and he was grinning from ear to ear! So much that
when the ride was over we did it again but this time with my
Dad! Grown-ups look so funny on this ride. Mom
wishes she could have gotten better pictures but it's hard in
the dark!
That was fun but Santa was just around the corner...so off we
went! Grey got to see/meet him first, he was not about to
let go of his Mom. I hopped right up there and told Santa
everything I want for Christmas - A Wii, Mario Kart for the Wii,
Lego Batman for my DS and Lego Sets. Santa told me that "a
lot of boys and girls want the Wii but he would see what he
could do". I posed for my picture and got a yummy
blueberry lollipop! Now, where is the Kissing Tower - my
other favorite ride! After that ride we drove the cars,
Dad and I drove both the "fast" cars and the classic ones.
Grey drove the classic cars and he did not want to get off that
ride either! He is learning fast that Hershey Park is a
fun place to be!
It was about time for the park to close, so on our way out, Grey
took a ride with his mom and dad on the SkyRide and Dad and I
hit up the bumper cars again. The Hartley's needed to hit
the road but we stayed and closed the park. Mom and I rode
the LadyBug ride one more time and then it was time to go!
I had such a fun time! Mom was a bit taken back by my good
mood. I was holding Jen's hand and giving her hugs
(something I never do) and I was very nice and helpful with
Grey.
We have decided that this will be an annual Proper/Hartley (and
whomever else would like to join us) Holiday event!

Karate
Belt Graduation Ceremony
December 20, 2008 |
Our belt
graduation ceremony this month was a small intimate affair, we
had this one at the karate school. Since it is so small
and there are so many of us, they broke it down into small
groups, so it was just the Tiny Tigers today. There were
about 25 kids that came. You don't actually have to go to
the ceremony to get your new belt...but we do, I think they are
fun!
Anyway, the white and yellow/black belts went first. This
is a big class, they all started in the Fall. Mom is glad
we started when we did, my class size is much smaller, so I do
get a bit more one on one attention. Anyway, then our
teachers did a little demonstrations, the S.W.A.T team did a
demonstration (oh, I can't wait to one of them!) and then it was
my turn! I cam out and got to stand right in front of Mom
and Dad...but do you think I was gonna let them ruin my focus?!
Nope...not a bit of expression from me! Mom even waved, I
nodded, so she didn't think I was ignoring her, but I was
thinking of what I needed to be doing! First, we showed
off our exercising skills. We did jumping jacks,
straddles, push-ups, and mountain climbers. Then, the
music cue started....BUM, BUM, BUM, BUM....The Eye of the Tiger
baby! That's right....we did our Universal to it,
and it looks so cool! If you are lucky, I may show it to
you...but you'll have to sing along!
I earned my YELLOW BELT...this is so cool and more official...as
those stripe belts were kind of like "baby steps" on the way to
yellow!

Merry Christmas
2008!
December 23rd
-29th, 2008 |
I was soo
excited for Christmas this year! This was the year, I was
really into the whole "Santa" thing too! Of course, it did
not disappoint....I had a great holiday, did fun things and
enjoyed my time with family!
December 23rd ~ I had school today, followed by after
school bowling...Mom told me that Grammy & Pap would be coming
to our house some time today. I was surprised, excited and
wound up when they showed up at the bowling alley to get me.
I was relieved when Mom told me that my teacher had called her
and the fixed the mix-up I had with another friends Christmas
gifts and she mine...whew! I was so upset that I didn't
have my parents gifts that I had worked so hard on, to give to
them! Crisis averted. It was a fun night of visiting
and showing off some of my karate moves! I had learned a
lot since they saw me last.
December 24th Christmas Eve ~ Dad had to work
today, but only half a day...thank goodness, as the weather was
absolutely horrible...freezing rains all day, so bad that it
coated the Direct TV dish and we had no TV to watch....grrrrr.
Thank goodness it started to melt later in the afternoon.
We weren't' watching anything anyway....but I know Mom wanted
that TV on Christmas morning, so we could watch The Christmas
Story movie - all day! Anyway, once Dad got home from
work, we played games of Rock Band 2. I am getting to be
quite the guitarist. Pap thought I did a pretty good
job. Pap was busy all day cooking up some stuffed
artichokes, not sure if they will EVER get me to eat one of
those things. I didn't complain about the smell though, so
I guess that is a good thing...I'm getting kind of funny about
smells. It's becoming one of those things...according to
Mom, the house needs to smell a certain way at Christmas, and
the smell of artichokes cooking, is one of them! Mom
started fixing Christmas Eve dinner, well, we have more of a
appetizer fest than a meal...we had shrimp cocktail, lil'
smokies in BBQ (per my request), veggies with hummus, and SUSHI!
Dad brought home a ton of it, mostly cause he and Mom LOVE it
and they wanted Grammy & Pap to try it. Grammy sure did
make a funny face with the first bite she took. That's
okay Grammy, I don't like it either. We played a couple
games of Apples to Apples and I tried my best and did okay, Mom
said she needs to get the kids version for me, with words that I
would understand what they were. After that, it was time
to start making Santa's cookies! I decided on sugar cut-out
cookies this year, and I made a whole slew of them, decorated
them all nice too! Throughout the night, I made sure to
keep checking the Norad Santa website, to see where he was
at...at one point of me having to keep asking Dad to check the
computer with me, I just had him set up his laptop for me on the
couch (my idea) so I could check on my own. We all watched
a movie, Christmas Vacation...which was really funny, and Dad
was sure to bleep out the naughty stuff, which wasn't much....I
told him that I already knew all the naughty words! Oh
well. It was time to get ready for bed, which I brought
up, as I noticed Santa was getting closer to the good old US of
A! I got the cookies and milk set up, the reindeers food
and water, the magic key on the door. Oh, that key...I had
all kinds of questions for Mom this year about that "key".
You see, I tried, it just DOES NOT fit in the keyhole of our
door. Mom said that only Santa can make that key work in
the door. She said as soon as he touches it, it changes
shape. If it didn't work like that...ANYONE could use that
key to get in our house and that would not be good!
Okay - Dad and I read the Night Before Christmas and it was time
to sleep. I did say to Dad, "Dad, if you hear Santa on the
roof, you have got to come and get me!" Dad said, that in
all his 35 years he has never heard Santa, but if he did, he
would come get me. :) Good Night. *Note,
this is the easiest I have EVER gone willingly to bed in my
whole life!
December 25th
MERRY
CHRISTMAS ~
As excited
as I was about Christmas the night before, I was still the last
one out of bed....everyone was already down stairs waiting for
me. I guess this is supposed to be funny, as most kids in
the world are waking up their parents at some godly hour in the
morning...maybe, they should be grateful that I give them extra
time to sleep in....just wait until I realized I should be
waking up at dawn! It didn't matter....I was still excited
to see that Santa had came! Now, did he bring me what I
asked for? We'll see. To Mom's surprise, I hit my
stocking first! I had all kinds of cool little things in
there that I wanted/liked. I got 3 mini Lego sets, a
karate key chain, karate head-band, karate book marker, a new
book and my favorite candies! It took me about 2 seconds
to scan over this stuff and move on over to the tree!
I spied my boxes wrapped from Santa - first....THE WII!
Yea! Next, what could this be, it was a pretty large
box....AWESOME - the Lego Star Wars Gunship! I had been
wanting this set for MONTHS! How did Santa know, I didn't
really "ask" for this one. Other gifts were just as
great...games to go with the Wii and controllers that you need
and Lego Batman for the Xbox! Another great gift from Mom
& Dad...was my Karate Sparring Gear - in ORANGE, as requested!
I did get a ton of great things, my Aunt Susan and Uncle Allen
got me 2 great Lego sets as well...a Coast Guard set and
construction truck! Also, a huge book about the making of
the Star Wars movies! Grammy & Pap got me too much
stuff....but I loved all of it, they got us our Season Passes to
Hershey Park, my Junie B. Jones books, a new game Pictureka, and
art supplies! I got a ton of new art supplies - perfect
for me! Grandma & PaPa got me my very own bottle of maple
syrup! Yummy! I asked for that! The got me a
new game for my DS - Mario & Sonic at the Olympic games, cases
for my existing games, and the movie WALL*E. I also got
money and savings bonds! Uncle Mark and soon-to-be Aunt
Lisa sent me a Lego set and the movie Kung Fu Panda! That
movie is great! Uncle JG (who was coming the next
day) had sent one of his gifts in early with Grammy....MarioKart
for the Wii! How did he know that I was getting the
Wii?!?! This is the game I really wanted ever since
playing it at Sam's house...plus, it is my favorite game to play
on my DS as well. But now, I can race Mom and Dad and
whomever else would like to play.
After everyone was done opening gifts, yea, other people get
things too. Mom started cleaning up things getting ready
to fix dinner. I started to work on my Lego Gunship right
away! No, I didn't ask for the Wii to be immediately set
up or anything...ha! I am a true Legomaniac! It took
me 3 hours to complete and I worked on it until it was done!
Dad helped me a little bit, but I did most of it myself!
It was time to get ready to eat! Mom made Ham, sweet
potatoes, corn on the cob (per my request too - oh and we used
my new colorful corn cob holders that Grammy got me!), my
specially made crescent rolls and a light dessert called "fluff"
and we colored it green to be festive!
After dinner we got the Wii set up and played around on that for
quite awhile...Grammy even played a few games of bowling and
Mario Kart - wow!
It was a long fun day, I am very grateful for all of my gifts
and I was excited to head to bed....Uncle JG (and Michelle) are
coming tomorrow!
December 26th ~ We all slept in today! Well,
except for Mom, she never does. Dad had to work today, but
was able to do so from home. Uncle JG and soon -to-be Aunt
Michelle got here around 3ish in the afternoon. It was sad
not having him here for Christmas Eve but this way we got an
extra guest and a longer stay! I'll take it!
We all gave our CONGRATULATIONS to them when they got
here...Uncle JG proposed to Michelle the weekend prior, so it
was a pretty exciting time for everyone! I like the fact
that Uncle JG is getting married! I like Michelle, she
plays Lego's with me and watches me on my DS...so she is GOLD in
my book! It didn't take us long to get our hello's out of
the way and start opening gifts. A wrapping paper frenzy
ensued! Other than my already cool Mario Kart game, they
got me an Alien Maker, Crayola drawing stuff, and this really
neat thing you color on and it lights up and then makes it look
like your picture is moving. I can't remember what it was
called. I wanted to make the Aliens right way, so we did
that. It was fun. We visited and played games on the
Wii. Mom made a yummy spaghetti dinner. It was to
bed early tonight, since we were all getting up to go to my
karate class in the morning.
December
27th ~ Today, we all were up early and moving about to get
to my karate class for 9:15AM! The class was nice and
small...but most of my normal teachers must have had the
holidays off, we had Sensei John (the owner of the school) - he
has a RED belt! He did a nice job but it just wasn't the
same, more like a "fun" class. I was the leader and got to
show off what that job means. Everyone was impressed with
my focus though.
Soon it was time for lunch and Grammy & Pap decided that we
should all go out to eat to celebrate JG and Michelle's
engagement. We ate at Fire Alley in Hershey, which
was pretty good...and we went at an "off time" so it was not
busy at all, which was nice. After eating there, Grammy
and Pap headed back home and we took Michelle to Chocolate
World. OH MY was it packed! We rode the "tour ride"
and got our free chocolate, then Michelle and JG bought some
stuff. Hot cocoa's to try and a bag of Peanut Butter
Kisses for PapPap! He loved them!
When we got home, it was time to make more Aliens!
Heeeheee...then play some of the other games that we got for
Christmas. We played Pictureka that Grammy got me, at
first, I was having a hard time and whining about it...but guess
who won?! Yea, me! Grammy said she wasn't going to
be fooled by my whining next time! Then we all broke out
our money ($3 each, Pap covered me) and played Dad's new game
that Santa put in his stocking - Left, Right, Center. I
simple dice game played with chips. It was a lot of fun
and the grown-ups played for quite awhile. I think Uncle
JG and Michelle took everyone's money!
Next, it was time for some Rock Band! We played for almost
3 hours...it was fun. I was up late! Pap thought he
would bust a gut watching me - I really get into it sometimes
and don't realize it. Eye of the Tiger is my favorite and
White Wedding. I am forever walking around the house
singing these songs...Mom said I could practice White Wedding
more and maybe Uncle JG will let me sing it at the wedding!
HA HA HA!
December 28th ~ Sunday came too soon. Uncle
JG and Michelle had to go after eating a yummy French Toast
breakfast made by Mom! I hope they can come back again
soon. Grammy & Pap decided to stay an extra day, as the
weather was supposed to be not so nice. Plus, we were able
to watch the Steelers game with them then and Mom and Grammy did
some shopping at the outlets! Wow, Mom went there this
time and actually didn't get anything for me!
December 29th ~ Grammy & Pap had to head home
today...it was going to be a nice day for traveling, so at least
they didn't need to worry about that. Dad had to work, so
Mom and I were just planning on hanging out, cleaning up the
house and relaxing! :)
I want to
THANK everyone who thought of me and gave me such
wonderful gifts! I hope you all had as wonderful a holiday
as me!
